Gameplay Mechanics: Strategy and the Boneyard The game begins with a set of “bones” (tiles) shuffled and dealt to each player. In Draw Domino, the primary goal is to be the first player to empty your hand by matching the pips on your tiles to the open ends of the domino chain on the board.

The Matching Rule: You can only play a tile if it has a number that matches one of the two free ends of the layout. If the board ends in a 5 and a 3, you must play a tile containing a 5 or a 3.
The “Draw” Mechanic: This is what gives the game its name. If it is your turn and you do not have a matching tile in your hand, you must “Draw” from the Boneyard (the pile of facedown tiles). You continue drawing until you find a playable tile or the boneyard is empty. This adds a thrilling element of risk—drawing too many tiles can give you more options, but it also puts you further away from winning the round.
Scoring: The round ends when one player “goes out” by playing their last tile. In the Nevco Online version, the winner then receives points based on the total number of pips remaining in the opponents’ hands.
